Alessia Cara
When she was 19, she published her first single for her debut album Here. It was a huge hit and was praised by the public and from critics. The single peaked at 19th on both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the track as one of the year's most memorable Songs. The same year, she debuted her album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks which reached the top of Billboard charts including The Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. The song is special because it was based on an interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners were inspired by her story in self-doubt as well as learning how to appreciate herself. Cara's music is renowned for its messages of kindness self-love, self-love and mental wellness. Her music is a reflection of her own struggles in dealing with anxiety and depression. In an Reuters interview she describes the album as being half turbulent and half perfected. Therapy helped her grow and she encourages others to seek assistance if needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. Her parents gave her an instrument when she was just 10 years old. The guitar ignited her passion for music. At the age of 13, she started to cover her favourite songs on YouTube an important media platform to show the world that she was gifted and the determination to be the next singer. In fact, one of her songs she covered Sweater Weather was the one that made her the focus of EP Entertainment. They allowed her to write and record her songs.
